Slovenia has purchased eight Roland-2 short-range air defense missile systems mounted on 8x8 trucks from Germany. These form one battery of the 1st Air Defense Missile Battalion; the other two batteries use shoulder-fired missiles. This is regarded as a major step toward interoperability with NATO.
