After using it in Afghanistan, the Marines have rejected the new MOLLE pack developed by the Army, saying it is not good enough for rough conditions. The Army, however, started buying the pack two years after the Marines did, using the time for extended testing. Most of the problems that the Marines have reported were found in the Army tests and fixed before the Army started buying the packs. The Marines reported that 15 percent of the plastic pack frames cracked, and at least 20 percent of the packs lost some of their plastic buckles and snaps.--Stephen V Cole
