Brazil is Russia's largest trading partner in Latin America ($1.5 billion last year, $2 billion this year, mostly in raw materials and agricultural products). Russia has signed a deal with Avibras, one of Brazil's top aviation companies, that could give Brazil a share of the work in producing the Su-35 fighter if Brazil selects this as their new combat aircraft. Brazil is also negotiating deals to buy Russian S-300 anti-aircraft missiles and Ukrainian Tsyklon space boosters.--Stephen V Cole
