Procurement: Iranian Smuggling Hits Snags

June 9, 2006: The European crack down on Iran's illegal export activities continues. Austria recently caught a crate labeled "pharmaceuticals", that actually contained a very expensive NBC (nuclear, biological, chemical) weapons detector. Iran has been running these illegal weapons export operations for two decades. But because Iran is giving Europe a hard time over Iranian efforts to build nuclear weapons, the police have been going after their list of firms and individuals suspected of working for the Iranians. This has led to many arrests, and much equipment, meant for illegal export to Iran, being seized.
