Water politics again. Ankara said that it intends to go ahead and build a controversial undersea water pipeline from mainland Turkey to the Turkish half of divided Cyprus, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyrpus (TRNC). Yes, Cyprus needs the water (the whole island suffers from perennial water shortages). Yes, this is a political kick that says if Cyprus negotiations dont work out, Turkey will keep the TRNC functioning indefinitely.
