Two Filipino warships are stuck on shoals off the Spratly islands. One has been stuck since May, the other for a year. Bad luck, bad weather and a shortage of resources have prevented the Filipinos from getting the ships free. But China, which claims the Spratly's, has threatened military action against the ships if they are not removed soon.
