NPA rebels kidnapped 14 power company employees and have demanded a $1,000 ransom. The increasingly used kidnapping to raise money for operating expenses (payroll, food and ammunition.) In the south, 150 MILF rebels attacked an army base, but were repulsed, losing two dead. In another incident, an army patrol killed one rebel and wounded another.
