While Russia and the United States are at odds over missile defense and Iraqi sanctions, they are united in containing Islamic fundamentalism and Afghanistan. The UN has placed sanctions on Afghanistan for harboring terrorist kingpin Osama Bin Laden. Russia and America are coordinating their sanctions efforts and sharing intelligence to counter Bin Laden's terrorist activities. This cooperation has other benefits for Russia, as the United States is less likely to criticize Russia's war in Chechnya. For America, Russia has been more energetic in cracking down on computer crime based in Russia. Recently, a group of  computer criminals were  arrested after committing several online crimes and planning more. Meanwhile, fighting continues in Chechnya, leaving seven rebels and one civilian dead.
