 Russian demographers say that Russian population will continue to drop at the rate of a million a year for decades unless economic and living conditions improve considerably. The current population of Russia is 142 million. The economy has been improving, as have living conditions. But there has been no change in the population drop (caused by falling life expectancy and birth rates).
