The second Kilo class submarine, of eight ordered by China, has been completed and will be turned over to a Chinese crew on May 5th. The first sub,  was launched in June 2004. The third sub has also been completed and is currently being tested. The fourth boat will be launched in May, and the fifth in July. There is no firm schedule for the rest of the order. The Chinese are paying $200 million for each of these diesel electric submarines. At the same time, there was a fire in a Russian shipyard, where a destroyer was being built for China. The damage was not extensive, and is not expected to delay deliver of the warship.
