The SPLA (or, more correctly, the SPLAs humanitarian organization, the Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Association) issued a statement that said the risk of starvation was increasing in south Sudan. The statement identified the Wau and Gogrial area of Bahr al Ghazal as being particularly vulnerable. The statement called on the Sudanese government (Khartoum) to lift a ban on aid flights into these areas.
