The British Army expects to have its WAH-64 Apache attack helicopters fully operational by Aug 2002. The 16th Air Assault Brigade will have 48 Apaches; the other 19 British Apaches will be with training units or in reserve as maintenance float. Sea trials for the British Apaches will begin in 2003.
