Israel has developed a new Advanced Minefield Marking System for use on its Puma Engineer Vehicles (which are built on Centurion tank chassis). The Israeli minefield breaching system using a rocket-carried line charge to detonate mines, after which the Puma drives a plow or roller into the minefield to destroy or push aside any remaining mines. The new marking system includes two drums, each containing 50 expendable markers, which are held to either side of the rear of the Puma vehicle. At specified intervals, these drums drop a weighed marker which projects a flag pole that marks the cleared lane.--Stephen V Cole
