Bahrain has received the first of 10 new F-16C fighters on order from Lockheed Martin. These are a considerable improvement over the eight earlier F-16Cs received in 1990. The new planes have color cockpit displays, the APG-68V8 multimode radar and fire control system, and AMRAAM missiles. The earlier F-16Cs have only Sidewinder and Sparrow. The new planes will form a second squadron in the Bahrain Air Force--Stephen V
