Clan disputes in central Somalia broke out in fighting that left at least a dozen dead and nearly twenty wounded. The Marehan and Dir clans had also fought several battles at the end of October, which left 27 dead and 45 wounded. The current unrest is basically a blood feud over a Marehan elder thought to have been killed by a Dir man in April.
