Mongolia has received a shipment of military gear (parachutes, ammunition, AGS-17 grenade launchers, and spare parts for MiG-21 fighters) from Russia. This is the first time that Mongolia has bought such supplies from Russia; previous deliveries were Russian foreign aid grants. The US provides Mongolia with training in peacekeeping and other military subjects. China provides medical supplies, engineering equipment, and computers. Belgium, Germany, India, Italy, South Korea, and Turkey provide officer and NCO training, either in Mongolia or in their own schools.--Stephen V Cole
