BraddockCaesar, want to earn some mad props?

DarthAmerica, want to prove you can read?

EW3, want to remind me what branch you were in?

Anglosphere, want to show me what time it is?

Finally getting my B.Sc in Info Mgmt Sys; picked research topic for senior thesis, topic to approximate:

Motivation and Performance Lessons of the Royal Navy (~1750-1815) vs. 21st Century Corporate Management Practices

I have read pretty much all of PoB and CS Forester. I have the Naval Chronicle waiting for me at the NYPL, and have written people in the UK who say they've got it on CD-ROM (no answer yet; does anyone know these people?: Michael Phillips, Jane Phillips

and there are several modern books. I would like people's opinions, experience, on good sourcing. Balance of mythos vs reality (Nelson's band of brothers; could anyone drink that much?).

I will formulate better questions if people here indicate an interest, so please sound off even if only to cite your favorite author (Muntaine, Jack Nastyface) or comment on modern management trends and parallels. TIA

Modern management trends and principles? I thought it was run on rum, sodomy and the lash. Actually, barring the sodomy, not too differant from where I work ;-)...
