Recovered some more of my old video for those of you who want to know what being a Leader is like 90% of the time and also for those who already know but dont mind taking a trip down memory lane with me. You see, being a leader is about how prepared you are and the example set BEFORE you go to war. This is because once the shooting starts, mistakes have a price in blood. So as the old saying goes, "the more you sweat in training, the less you bleed in war". Having said that...
...you have a young Captain and an experienced damned good NCO addressing a group of officers on what to expect when they get to their platoons. The group also includes Marines and some multinational members as well including personel from South America and the Middle East.
One more thing that I would like to point out. I shot this video just after the USS Cole was bombed. The Captain was so right unfortunately about the future being violent. Fortunately though, we have good people like that with the intelligence to realise such things. Because he and other Officers and NCOs, including those being addressed, who think that way will train their troops with the mentality that this is serious and you could very soon be called upon to use these skills. This is one of the reasons why we can war with the most fanatically violent enemies for 5 years and sustain relatively low casualties. This $hit works, HOOOOOAAAAAAAH!!!
Anyway, I'll conclude here for now unless anybody cares to post here. Football starts in 16 minutes...;) Ah the joys of living in a country protected by the finest people you could ever imagine. Remember, people are paying a price RIGHT NOW so we can enjoy this. You just saw some of them in the video.
Thanks
