F-35 Data Breach!
4/20/2012 11:20:26 AM
It is seemingly apparent that the U.S. and its friends and allies, including major DoD contractors, refuse to learn from the mistakes of the past. This is
NOT
the first, nor will it be the last such breach.
The Chinese have been "raping" the world of its intellictual capital for the past 10 years and will continue to unless data owners and stewards learn to keep "sensitive" data under Lock & Key. By this, I mean placing such data on workstations and servers that are NOT connected to the Internet.
The Internet is
NOT
a safe place to store sensitive personal or company data. It is a fine media for doing research, but any and ALL private data should be totally ISOLATED from the Internet and remain that way.
If employees need access to the "outside world", they can use special terminals (workstations) that are connected to the Internet.
When will we ever learn? I doubt that this comment will be taken seriously. What a close friend once told me, "
what we learn from history is that we never learn from history
." We will continue to do business in a reckless manner, until we are robbed of our knowledge and position of power, since "knowledge is power".
Good luck, and happy Data Minning.
