Subject: What form does the bribe take?
jastayme3    2/7/2007 11:59:03 PM
Has anyone done a study into what works best where? I heard somewhere that there was a temporary goof in Afghanistan because the locals only took gold rather then paper money.
In other places anything that looks like "filthy lucre" might seem insulting, so for face-saving it comes in an art object, a bottle of wine or something cool looking like that. The variations are tremendous and it does seem that if we are to get going we should have the knack of what to bribe people with.

Somewhere is some Intel office in each division there is a desk for for different countries in that divisision's AO, also, the CIA, DIA and NSA regularly send updates to the services on a variety of cultural issues. I will tell you having sat at those desk, what to bribe someone pretty much doesn't come up.
