Blood Thicker than Religion
1/8/2013 5:57:48 PM
Greetings,
Have been eagerly reading your posts since I found your site a couple of months ago. CBC and PBS provide some in-depth background to current events, but rarely anything as fact-based and candid as your articles.
As a liberal with a passion for human rights I began focusing on Islam after the fatwah against Salman Rushdie in response to his novel
Satanic Verses
. To me the evidence clearly shows that Islam is not merely a religious faith
but also a social and political program with the goal of establishing itself worldwide. It is also clear to me that this belief system is incompatible with Free World values, e.g. human rights, freedom of belief and expression, separation of church and state, low tolerance for corruption, and so on. It victimizes believers, and unbelievers that it can reach.
People build societies and institutions based on what they believe. Islam shapes dysfunctional societies. It has no rightful place in the Free World, and needs to be identified as a scourge to humanity. In the 1940's we learned to identify Nazism, not the German people, as the enemy to be crushed. I hope our leaders will find the guts
to identify Islam, not necessarily Moslems, as the enemy to be confronted and eliminated.
Thanks! Spike97
