I am not in tank export business, but there are a lot of tanks which draw origin from T-72 for sale. I suppose the competition is tough, and sales are hard to win.

Going to be tough generating sales for Pakistan.
1) China has a much better reputation for quality than Pakistan.
2) China is less corrupt, which makes their products cheaper because fewer people need to be bribed and lowers the final price. that is negotiated. That's why the Sri Lanka deal is stuck in negotiations, why pay more for Pakistani when you can have better Chinese for less?

Combat provence is imported .
During the Lebanon war T-72 has poor performence againts Merkava's and TOW's.
Tank reliability and survivabilty is imported than electronics.
My personely favorite is Lecrec , as ground troops of France againts the the other
Export to neighboring countries is not a criteria for tank.

Maybe its the 5 gears it has, 1 forward and 4 in reverse that buyers shy from, or the bulls-eye the Paks call camo.
