Is the advent of C5i going to place those innovating nations into an almost unimpeachable position?

Will this act as the foundation for virtual battlefield management ushering in a new level of unmanned but remotely managed assets?

"5"? What's the fifth "C"? I work in the C4/IO division at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center, and I hadn't heard of C5I yet. Displacedjim

sorry Jim, I'd forgotten about this one. ;) The 5th C is for Cyborg. There are a couple of shops and IIRC a DARPA project looking at 5Ci as the new comms echelon.

I have visions of the Sony electronic dog with a conformal stomach pack, deployable weapons inside.. ;) there's a few think tanks working on the cyborg side of things now though.. this is still a bit too buck rogers for me, after all, Berkeley have only just got around to building skeletal enhancement packs - let alone an autonomous battle ready unit.

I keep thinking "the Borg" aren't science fiction, they are the future of the human race.
