Just have to hold politicians in contempt. At the same time they are wordering 30,000 patriots out of the service, they have increased the number of bureaucrats by 500,000 at all levels of government. Try firing some useless and redundant paper pushers instead of Marines and other military who are actually doing something useful.

Soldiers

Soldiery is one of the most important jobs a man can do, and soldiers must be respected. If the state betrays its soldiers, they might as well turn their soldiers' guns on themselves. That's how most civil wars started: when the military feels is has been betrayed by the state, it can take over. It's the old Spanish Civil War play.

Kipling all over again
12/11/2012 4:50:03 PM
It reminds me of the old poem by Kipling, "Tommy" Our political soldiers in the big building on the Potomiac are doing the bidding of the black man in the whitehouse. He has unilaterally declared victory on the war on terror and teh country will pay the price. People will realize the Muslims will not stop till a mushroom cloud sprouts over NYC or DC.
"You talk o' better food for us, an' schools, an' fires, an' all:
We'll wait for extry rations if you treat us rational.
Don't mess about the cook-room slops, but prove it to our face
The Widow's Uniform is not the soldier-man's disgrace.
For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Chuck him out, the brute!"
But it's "Saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot;"
