That may be, but for me it was far more profitable of a learning experience to read those threads because it was possible to glean actual knowledge from them.  Instead with this kid all I've learned is that kids used to be far more creative with our swearing when I was in middle school.

The good news is that he'll have more free time now to go to elementary school.

Belisarius1234    You learned a great deal...   3/7/2013 11:27:37 PM
...because many people had the patience to explain to him missile tactics, electronic warfare, and why the Rafale was an F-16 grade level aircraft saddled with inferior technology and poor design choices.

But the man claimed so much knowledge that he just did not have. And he would not learn.

He would have been all right, if he would just LEARN.

Example. I spent the last month learning more about the Avro Lancaster than I ever thought I'd want to know.

As recently as a couple months  ago, I thought the B-24 was the best general purpose WW II heavy bomber. Boy was I wrong!

Properly that title goes to the Lancaster. A good design for what it was intended to do. The British learned in combat what to build in a heavy bomber, probably the best operational heavy bomber of the Second World War. (Yes, that includes the B-29.)

What has that to do with this topic?

Myths you believe can KILL you in war. In the case of the Chinese, they have historically been LOUSY on offense, unless they are combat experienced or trained in near simulated combat conditions. So have been  Americans and ANYONE else who start off with a lot of ignorance and no experience. But at the moment Americans are combat experienced and DEADLY on land, air and sea. They know what they are doing.

But the Chinese military is exuberantly confident in declaring that they could win a showdown with them. Wrong answer that is.

When Chinese generals thump their chests and shoot off their mouths, their saner political leadership remembers the Vietnam border war and how the Americans butchered them in Korea. The Chinese were mauled in both exercises. The political types know that what you don't really know kills you.

Conversely, the defect in Americans is the obverse. Our political leadership has too many 'Scotts' in it.

They will let our REAL experience evaporate, believe in their own 'myths'  and when the war trumpet sounds, we will be green and suffer many DEAD.

That is the American military history. The Chinese political leadership is patient.

They learned. They know. They remember.

I think most if not all of the artillery positions within reach of Seoul , (especially those that are hard fixed such as caves) have been identified over the years. I have seen photo recon of many of the sites on the net along with lengthy analysis of each one.
Do you have any public links for those documents.

Just curious about what they have identified. Also curious if they know if the stuff has been adequately maintained. Some of those weapons may have been there 50 years or more, and could just be large piles of rust held together by many layers of paint.

Ah jez, yes but it would be difficult to find. The info is on Military photos .com and the series of articles in depth were given by a person apparently highly knowledgeable called "Planeman"? I don't know how you could research it but he did several other analysis as well. All very good and all in depth. This guy knew all the ins and outs.  He showed satellite images of each arty site and analysis of NKs weapons, calliber and ability to reach Seoul. I suspect NK knows the importance of these weapons and keeps them in good shape. Let me know what you find or do not and I will try to help you find it myself.

OK, I just verified it again, it is Military photos.net, Planeman is who you want to research (You may have to register, not a problem), I found it on page two of his many posts. Title is North Korea strikes. Take your time to absorb what he has to say, it is in depth.
