Its not the airframe that counts, but rather the electronics and engines

If they aren't building said airframes out of carbon composites/ceramics for stealth purposes, then any airframe made from aluminum is about equal until one comes down to engines and electronics. If China was able to duplicate the engines and electronics then yea, they "stole" the airplane. If not, they "stole" a shell making it pretty much a target against superior electronic fielded aircraft or a bomber.

I find it incredible that companies (within countries) continue to supply their imagined enemy with weapons, why don't the Russians just stop sending the Chineese the engines ?? where else would they get them..?
Could you imagine how the world would be if the Russians hadn't sold 55 million attack rifles.
The middle east would be a lot safer place...

Considering how many times China has outright stolen technology and re-sold it as its own, let alone their failure to curb software pirating, etc, that governments such as the USA were so eager to allow the transfer of so many dual-use technologies and manufacturing techniques there.
Now the USA (amongst other equally stupid countries) are funding China's military buildup, and therefore encouraging their obnoxious behavior.
BUY AMERICAN PRODUCTS FIRST, other countries friendly to the US second (Canada, Europe, etc.) and CHINESE products only as the LAST resort.

good point. went back to buying american first for the last few yrs. chinese products are not necessarily less money, just bigger profit for retailer. that's been my experience.
