It seems to be a running theme on StrategyPage.com to point out which countries the USA, Russia, and China are giving loans to so that they can send the money right back to them in the form of payments for military equipment.  I don't know about you guys, but I see massive potential for a big brawl between the proxies of these countries.

This whole thing with Cambodia has got to be making the Vietnamese nervous: a one-two attack by China from Cambodia and southern China could easily overrun Vietnam.  Thankfully the Vietnamese are an extremely difficult people to occupy - especially considering that they have more money now than they did during the 1960s.

Its more govt welfare(indirectly) for their respective defense industries than planning or wanting a proxy brawl. I suspect Cambodia is still recovering from Pol Pot and don't want to fight anyone. Maybe Thailand over the Angkor Temple claims, but even that seems low key.  Seriously doubt they'll be China's proxy bitch for anything.

Beside, one of the worst military disaster in history is when China tried to invade the 'Nam.
They had bigger losses in a week there than the USA in 25 years... They're not about to try
again and look like idiots once more!
