"The Afghan Air Corps has bought 20 C-27As. These Italian made aircraft are easy to fly and very popular with their Afghan pilots."  The AAC bought none of these.  The USAF bought them with funds earmarked for the AAF.  However they can never be legally transfered to the AAF IAW Italian law, trade embargo on military goods to Afghanistan.  One of the reasons the C-27s are being sent to the boneyard instead of left for the AAF.

Easy to fly but not maintain.  That's one reason why no missions with them since early December.  The AAF mechanics preferred the An-32s for their ease and reliability.
