McCain met the Dalai Lama - the Senator called on China to release Tibetan prisoners and account for any people who disappeared during an uprising earlier this year in Tibet and surrounding areas.  China was critical of the meeting and scolded McCain for interferring in its internal affairs.

 

Obama said he could not meet the Dalai Lama because of a schedule conflict.
