Subject: Acronyms that don't work (or shouldn't)

Stability and support operations- SASO (good), but, I've seen this a few times for Stability Ops and Support Ops- SOSO (not good).
Tactical Exercise Without Troops- TEWT (okay), but, you figure if this one is good- Practical Exercise Not Including Soldiers. what d'ya think?

It seems like I read that right after Pearl Harbor the US Pacific Fleet changed its abbreviation from the unfortunate CINCUS ("sink us"), maybe to CINCPAC or something like that.

CINCUS was the acronym for CDR IN CHIEF US Fleet (ADM King)...so he changed the title to Chief of Naval Operations. Another one we use was a Tactical Walk And Talk which is a TWA.......well, you can finish it.
