Personally, I still think that the US and the other Anglo-Saxon navies are sailing into the warm and sunny northwestern Indian Ocean because they can, and because they're nobody's suckers. The north Atlantic and the Beringian oceanic expanses must be rather unpleasant at this time of the year...

We want Iran to get nervous so that they will waste more money on inferior russian and chinese weapon systems. Then we'll pummel them and put another muslim force to shame. Then other nations in the Gulf will buy even more US/Allied weaponry because nothing beats actual combat when it comes to purchasing equipment!
