HYPOCENTER    US lead-insurgeny inside Iran?   2/17/2007 6:02:15 PM
The story on the first bombing of a bus full of Mullah military people really peaked my interest. Now a second attack. My guess is, there's an insurgency going on inside Iran which the CIA has helped foment and support. There have been anti-Mulah groups in Iran for years now, they've kept a low profile because the Iranian secret police network is extensive. It would make perfect sense for the CIA to try and make contact with these groups and help them if possible...

Have any groups claimed responsibility for the attacks?

HYPOCENTER    Iran Offers "Evidence" US Arming Iranian Rebels   2/18/2007 1:09:17 PM
I made my above statement before ever reading this: link

In a very strange twist here... Iran is actually trying to "provide evidence" that the US is arming anti-Iranian forces (inside of Iran).
 .Evidence us arming iranian rebels

I'm not convinced the US is behind any of this, I hope it is though.

LOL, that reminds me of a building in Iraq during GW1 totally flattened with a brand new sign, written in English and Arabic, standing out the front: "Baby Milk Factory". The Western media, idiots that they are, "lapped" it up.

The bombings in Iran are more likely the efforts of Sunni Baluchi separatists (that part of Iran borders Baluchistan in Pakistan). The Baluchis would prefer to be part of neither Iran nor Pakistan. I don't blame them one iota.

Cheers.

Could this lead to a covert alliance between Iran and Pakistan to crush the Baluchi rebels using the "pincer" tactic?

It is in the interests of both countries that a separatist movement common to both is put down. Co-operation between the two is complicated, however, by the fact that the Iranians are Shia while the Baluchis are Sunni. It would not look good for Sunni Pakistan to be co-operating with a Shia regime to beat up on fellow Sunnis. As you say, it would have to be covert.

Cheers.
