Subject: Iran Pakistan India gas pipeline on track-UN sanctions will be ineffective
Herc the Merc    3/27/2007 4:02:05 PM
Despite strong US pressure neither Pakistan or India have relented
on the project. Goes to show you what power Iran has due to its natural resources. THe deal is expected to be signed in June regardless of any US sanctions on companies in the project. This obviously greatly diminishes any other sanctions taht UN is planning right now as revenues from gas to Pak and INdia will be , well, bloated. Further India is looking to buy LNG from Iran. India has just learnt a bitter lesson, never mess with your oil and gas vendor even if it upsets the most powerful countries in the block.
