Subject: 2500 U.S. War Dead

2500 War Dead As much as liberals would like us to believe that the administration sold on the premise that the Iraq war would be quick with few casualties and pay for itself in oil revenue, I have to offer a personal rebuttal. When coalition troops reached Baghdad with losses similar to Gulf War I, I anticipated that 2,500 dead would be in the range of losses for the whole campaign. I?ve always thought that Saddams thugs and the Republican Guard would wage some sort of partisan campaign. Al-Qaeda was the wild card. We may suffer 2879, or 3298 or some other arbitrary figures, but my perception was that the figures of 25,000 that the liberal press was predicting was issues either for propaganda purposes or out of ignorance ? actually both is the answer. With the major campaigns behind us, and the possibility of troop drawdowns imminent casualties figures should hopefully start down. Only these heroes can give meaning to this war. Not our treasure, or oil. The only ones who can take away their heroism are those who did so in the 70's - the liberal congress.

"The only ones who can take away their heroism are those who did so in the 70's - the liberal congress." That was really a pity. So many heroes, subjected too sooo much crappy & needless ignorant abuse!
