Why is Kerry trying to get anything done through Qatar? They are one of Hamas's biggest supporters! Why isn't he trying to work a deal through the PLO? The PLO has support of the moderates in Gaza and they are the only people that have a chance of taking charge once Hamas is out. Both Egypt and Saudi Arabia would support a POL gov't in Gaza. :7)

Who are the Arabs *not* at war with?

I believe that Israel is just the lightning rod for the real underlying problem: the Arab world does not get along with anybody, not even itself. What is it? 80% of all armed conflicts are in the Middle East? The vast majority of Muslims are being killed by other Muslims, not Israelis or Americans. Muslims are in armed conflict with virtually every other people with whom they are in contact, on all continents, in almost all nations. In fact, I cannot think of a single nation that is not affected by some sort of Muslim insurgency.
We are dealing with a medieval belief system that demands death for all infidels, defining an "infidel" as anyone who follows even the wrong successor to their beloved prophet. At the same time, it believes that it is the rightful ruler of any part of the world where any Muslim has ever set foot.
We keep sending money for schools and hospitals where youth can be indoctrinated not only in these beliefs, but also belief in blood libel and other anti-Semitic and anti-Christian propaganda. The money we send them is used to buy bullets with our names engraved on them. I wonder whether this is wise.
Middle Eastern governments have long played off their subjects' hatred for each other in order to stay in power. That policy is coming back to bite them hard.

Arab animosity towards goes way back, In fact I don't know the origin, but it dates much before 1948. Why Arab leaders adopted it as official politics ? Because they wanted to be popular among their people, of course. Today it is the same thing. Hating Jews is popular among Arabs, although they fight each other most of the time.
And yes, Palestinians. They care so much about Palestinians. How many Palestinians have been killed by fellow Arabs in Jordan (Black September) and Lebanon....

I can't understand if the muslims want us all to go back to this basic 7th centurary lifestyle and values why are they using our 21st centuary technologies, weapons and transport..
Imagine what a suicide vest would look like if it didn't have modern explosives and detenators..

I read in the early mornings news that apparently even the Chinese are beginning to have more then just little problems with Muslims in Northern China.
