I am guessing the propellant charge leaves no residue tha might preignite the next charge, since there was no quenching mechanisim  visable.

Not at all.  The breech opened, looked like some dust or dirt or of course residue of the charge just fell out, then it looked like something blew into or across? the breech.  Nitrogen maybe to inert it, or maybe just air.  So I guess it auto-purges.  I also noted the cameras got crappier the longer it ran.  Probably the whole compartment is pulsing with airborne crud.  Good reason to keep a man out of the room.  I counted about one every eight seconds?

BTW that was not a full charge, now was it?  Probably the cameras couldn't take 24 of that ;>

Every eight seconds beats these guys.  They are making every sixteen or seventeen seconds.  Almost four RPM

Note they are not swabing the breech with water.  Which makes for a slight risk of misigniting the charge.  Perhaps these newfangled charge bags dont leave sparks?  The Marine firing the cannon is not using laynard, letting his hand ride the firing lock.  He's getting away with it with the low charge but I'd not want to try it with a charge 7.
