Subject: Sleeping with the DEVIL

Amazon.com book SLEEPING WITH THE DEVIL by ROBERT BAER. Agree with expat2s comments. I trained the sauids for 2 years on F-15s. The saudis have no air force it is a flying club for the princes. On a good day, lucky day saudis can generate 16 sorties total. On a good day USAF F-15 wing can generate 216 sorties in 24 hours. If you can find a source look up the number of 3rd party workers in saudie or kuwait. Once when the turkish workers revolted the saudie army had to round them up bring them to the airfield and ship them out on C 130s. Saudies no longer hire the turks. Read SANDRA MACKEYS book THE SAUDIS. Read THE ARAB MIND by PATATI.

No - I am about to read Robert Baer's "Sleeping With The Devil" I was at Dhahran 96-98 and then I really spent some time in "hell" for 3 more years - at RSAF HQ in Riyadh. At Least the Jadawel compounds (by-the-sea in Dhahran, and the "bombed" one in Riyadh were nice digs). I learned not to "hate" the Sauds - they are only products of their society. What I learned to dislike even more was how American corporate managers could easily be corrupted by the business environment of prevalent in Saudi. I have learned that the fingers of the Carlyle Group run deep in both Saudi Royal circles and our own government. I learned that corporate America was watching how Saudi government contracts were used to milk their nation's oil revenues. I strongly suggest that the very same corporations who were "in-bed" with these Saudi contracts are applying those very same principles to gaining contracts out of our own government to bilk the American taxpayer.
