I think that it will survive, because the Germans and French know that allowing it to die will likely be blamed on them, and not the US. They will stick in it, but keep up their efforts to take the lead from the US/UK.

Is it really in USA's interest for NATO to survive.Is the battle with the left for the hearts & minds of Europeans worth the attention that would have to be paid. Surely some of the current events there, cast doubt on NATO's value to USA interests.If NATO does not serve our intrest as well as there's,why should we stay in.The old Soviet Union is gone,& there does not seem to be much agreement on the use of NATO power to protect divergent intrests of the member countries.I believe the cost to the USA is to high and that bilateral agreements can replace NATO.At least it would make some of the clowns who presently use it for a stage to play for the masses,to pay the full cost of NATO.USA should find another way to promote it's security interests in Europe.

I don't think it will die; it's one of those organizations that policymakers on both sides of the Atlantic, at the end of the day, will consider "too big to fail." On the other hand, it will likely end up visibly changed, and the change in attitudes about its effectiveness and relevance could be a perception that comes to define reality. Whether or not this leaves NATO a shadow of its former self or not, it's difficult to say. --Phoenix Rising

messieurs You forgot the position of belgium... France is yet one foot outside since 66 Warsaw pact is dead ...what's the real purpose of NATO ? europe military protection speaking= nothing , only politics serving mostly US interests. France and germany are more involved by a EU military force...

it's a will for french and others to have an integrated military power directly led by europeans. UK is against , because of his NATO/US links. Thers is yet a franco-german brigade , that works quite well. this army would have a lot of advantages for EU...specially with money problems . Other excample is the serious anglo-french project for a common aircraft carrier ...to be followed.

I would be very wary of placing any link on here from the white nationlist community. Even though there are a great many Jews 'on the board' in the US, taking such a site as evidence will only shoot you in the foot.
