It's an impressive model, and not something that normally comes up much! If I ever get the time, I'd love to read up on the relationship between the Nazi German subs, and the postwar Russian subs - some are said to be almost simple copies of the German designs.

I expect even the Ming class which China still uses widely today are very close to the late war German boats.

And I expect the boats to be very capable against anything short of a modern ASW warship.

This is a 3-4 person sub fashioned after the type XXI currently being operated in Denmark. This boat has a diesel-electric system with snorkle and periscope!
