Looking at my map of petroleum exporters I really don't see Mali on this list.  Good, one less place to worry about.
 
Cynical of me?  YEs and no.  Clearly the world cannot allow another Rwanda-style genocide but we ( the US) cannot try to stamp-out every conflict of this scale. 
 
Sucks to be on the receiving end in Mali, but Africa needs to police it's own.
