Subject: Iran crowd control
ambush    6/15/2009 6:18:50 PM
I was not sure of which category to put this so I stuck it here. I have had some crowd control training in the Marine Corps and I was wondering why does it appear that the Iranian Police/militia seem to have so little? Seeing them in action it looks like two different mobs confronting each other instead of an organized disciplined force attempting to control/disperse a mob. Also what the heck is with the motorcycles?

I think that you have already answered your question, i.e. the militia is just a government sanctioned mob selected for their political loyalty and willingness to brutality terrorize their own countrymen into submission.  Probably a direct lineal descendant of Hitler's Brown Shirts / Stormtroopers, something like them is 'needed' by every repressive regime to persecute their enemies.

Allah help any 'rioters' that they have arrested.  Odds are that few will ever be seen again.
