Incidentaly, didn't Tasmania flirt with the idea of this several years ago?

Yup, Tasmania ran an event in the 90's but it folded. The closest thing we have to this in Oz now it the Red Bull race in Perth (I went in 2006). It doesn't look a patch on Reno with the souped up WW2 fighters in the open class and the L-39 only class. Way cool. I hope they have the Thunderbirds or the Blue Angels doing a show.
