The fact that you yue the term bovine excrement means you are American! So, tell me, who first used the high altitude low opening parachute  tatic in the military, Americans? Love it or not the SAS developed and PERFECTED that idea and tought Americans how to do it. Also tell me ONE conflict that Americans used the halo jump in anger.
You are ignorant of the history of the SAS, go read the men in arms documentary on the SAS for starters it would suprise you.
Also which known mission you know the SAS failed on. The mission back at the US  embassy in Iran where a certain elite group failed miserably, did you think that was an SAS mission, if you did I would like to inform you it was not.
Just a note of interest, look at how a US GI used to carry his assault rifle in Nam and how they carry it now. Then look at how a British Soldier carried his assault rifle since the early 60's. See if you see any semilarities.
Brother, you all learn a lot from the "Limies",its just a fact.

Too bad you guys are second rate, if not third. I don't blame a lot of you guys for being jealous. You wish your country and military was like the US. Your police gets man handled by a bunch of kids (anti-austerity anarchist protestors), your SAS gets captured in Libya and in Persian Gulf War 1. You seem to want to brag about how you invented and developed everything. Get Real. You guys have done some intresting things, but go around parading that your the best in the world. You simply don't have the caliber of soldiers (recruits) that you may once had. And give up some of your pride and admit the truth. Americans are confident enough to admit failure and learning things from others. We even trained you in a thing or two; we also have been the model for other countries.

Yes you are right about being a limy.
The only things countries learn about you cowards (i,e,. surrender to the iranian navy, surrender of Basra and weak performance in Iraq and Afghanistan, watching your poor excuse for police getting man handled by a bunch of punk anti-austerity anarchist protesters) is what having an inferiority complex is all about. Your SAS members gets captured by the Iraqis in Persian Gulf war 1 and break during interrogations; your SAS gets captured by Libyan rebels and are humiliated. What do you mean we learn from you; learn how to get humiliated. You say "mention one conflict that we use HALO jump"; you think we're supposed to announce it. Anything we learn, we learn from engaging in real conflicts and war (Korean, Vietnam, &scores of intelligence missions); not some sissy skirmishes like the Falklands nice watching the Royal Marines on their stomachs) and Malayasian affair. And we're not ashamed when things go wrong; we admith failure and not make excuses.  But go on; keep living in a "wet dream". But facts are facts; we have better training facilties and a government/people that support us. How does it feel to be sitting on the side lines and wishing things could have been like pre WWII. Must suck, ehh Mate.

Sir, What I know is that the SAS has been doing special ops from before the navy SEALS were an idea. Check out the SAS work in Borneo during the civil war in the 50's(history of the SAS). What the SEALS did in Pakistan is what the SAS is used to doing in the middle east for years, they just dont publicise their missions.
Talking about swimming...what do you know about the SAS training, its not a TV publisity stunt like you see on the Military channel. During the Falklands war an SAS unit team dropped in the South Atlantic in the dead of night from 35,000 feet and swam about 2 miles to shore in freezing water so the Argies could not see them. They operated behind enemy lines.
When you see those documentries of SEALS coming ashore with those rubber dingies, that is something the SAS have been doing since the 1950's. You dont think the SEALS learned from old Brittania.
There is very little known about the training and tatics employed by the SAS to the general public but they do share a lot of info with SEAL teams cause they allies. Plus members of the SAS are held in deep secret, they are not known to the public.

You mean the war in that little island antigua where you manhandled a bunch of ill armed univercity kids. Yes British police get beat up thats cause they are unarmed, British police do not shoot their citizens like some people do,so premitive a tatic, they respect their citizens. Sure SAS get captured by by Iraquis. It was a team of about 6 guys againt the whole Iraqi army and how many Iraqis did they kill in the process and how many miles of desert did they cover before they were captured?
The British are too civilised to HATE Americans, they just think you are funny, but Americans, the commoners, do hate the British. However your government dont and they always seek British advise and political backing when involved in world affairs, cooler heads do prevale...old chap.
Great men are not known by the amount of friends they posess but by their enemies, I hope you see the point I am trying to make.
PS. I would like to see how the US marines would deal with the IRA in the streets of Belfast during the 1960's...would you employ the tatics of the Liebstandart in the Warsaw getto in WW2..flatten the city.

Train in for example...you have got it backwards mate. Well you do say "like we once had" so there is hope for you yet.
Did you or your wife watch the Royal wedding, if so congrats because the culture would uplift you. After all the founding fathers were English you know, so the foundation was built on ENGLISH traditions. Not bad for an island nation dont you think?
