France and Ayatollah Khomeini and Iran

Please correct me if I amwrong--Didn't the Ayatollah live in France and was flown into Teheran from Paris with French governement-co-operation to Teheran after Shah was overthrown. Was it first class by Air France??

French governement asked the Shah if we should kill Khomeini.The Shah answered Khomeini was not a danger and would be more dangerous as a martyr.
