Does anybody know what can we expect from the program? i've read that it will be a fully souped ef (tranche 3b, ej230 or 270). will there be anything else? i doubt we'll see much in the way of stealth, because not much of it was included in the design so far - for a good reason i suspect, as the germans've had the know-how for a long time translate.google.sk/translate?hl=sk&sl=sk&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2F i suspect that the s-shaped inlets are to made the identification by turbine blade counting (or something like that, maybe with regard to speed) impossible (and to eliminate the greatest rcs weakness i suspect). maybe a weapon pod/ conformal fuel tank-pod? capability to carry an oversize penetrator missile (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HOPE/HOSBO - it's only 3k lb, so it shouldn't be a problem) on the center store (it only accepts fuel now and there is a landing gear door interference)? what else is there? please, no anti-eurofighter bashing and no comparisons to the f-35.

Without the Indian order you may not even see the stuff you have in the post.  Once F-35 is established there won't be any further orders for anyone with access to that program.  The best hope is the Saudis with an additional order that pays for the upgrades as well.

AESA Captor most likely. Maybe conformal tanks. EF's future is muddy. Improvements are considered, but the political will and funding seems to be lacking right now.

You get some information about the Eurofighter 2020 proposal here:
h*tp://www.eurofighter.com/fileadmin/web_data/downloads/efworld/ef_world_2-2011.pdf

Replace the * with a t.
Whether that variant will be realised remains yet to be seen, but individual elements could be retrofitted to existing aircraft via retrofit.

earlm - agreed, the indians would make a perfect partner.

there was also a proposal to the turkey (for 2020), other players are also japanese and possibly australians, if they choose to replace their hornets (c/d, that are about to be replaced) with the ef.

Forget about the Australians they won't switch from the F-35. The Gulf States and India as well as Japan are the most likely customers.

it was mentioned as an interim replacement for the c/d hornet until the f-35 becomes mature (i.e. until they see if it lives up to its promises). it wasn't official, as far as i know, just a comment on the ELP blog (not from ELP) regarding the replacement of the hornet.

there are more reasons for the SH + meteor though, including the price.

The Super Hornet will bridge the gap and the RAAF would rather lease more Super Hornets than introducing an all new and different type. As aforementioned forget about it, you'll never see a Typhoon in RAAF colours.

ELP is a Kopp wannabe.  As such his blog will post anything against SH and F-35.
