I would propose a different kind of article to argue about?
I would like to pick a time frame, IE early, mid or late WW-II, or Korea, ( 2nd gen jets) to state what your design parameters would be.
You get to set ALL of the following specific parameters between 1-100%! The cost of the plane will be based on the cumulative total between the broader categories. All you have to do is select a number between 0-100 indicating how important do you think that category is!
IE Aerodynamic performance, Engine performance, Avionic performance, Weapons load and Durability of construction in equal measure. The categories are;
Aerodynamic performance;
Speed (smaller slender fuselage and pit); Instantaneous maneuver ( short wings & big tail), OR Sustained maneuver (longer and wider wings & smaller tail) the pair not to exceed 100%, Range (weight and size of fuel tankage)
Engine performance;
Engine type, Size in # cylinders, bore and stroke, Engine power adders like super and or turbo charging, TBO in hours, total HP, prop(s) # blades or static thrust.
Avionic performance;
Radio; 1%=1W~100%=100W, Number of channels @ 5% per, packaging density >%=%= |
