Subject: F 313 Qaher

Iran recently unveiled its new stealthy fighter. Looks good, but I'm highly skeptical. Their history is more bluff than build.

I think it's spelled "Qaher?" Please correct me, if I'm wrong.

It looks to me like a fiberglass shell. I can tell you the intakes are wrong, the vertical stabilizers are wrong, etc.

If someone thinks that thing is flyable, then I'll refer him to Shooter 45 as a student.

It does look like it owes more to a cessna than a f35, those cockpit sides must be adamn strong shell as there is no width to mention

Maybe its them that shooters been teaching, well we can hope.

It looks to me like fiberglass over a wooden frame - i'd be dubious CAD was actually involved.

Very lol.

Ah well at least the Iranians haven't lost their sense of humor.
I've seen beter attempts in movies at designing an aircraft

The intakes look fine to me for a sub-sonic plane. The aft wing camber looks a might deep to me, but at the speed it or a model was flying, it would be fine. As to it's ability to fly, why not if the F-117 can do it, why not this?
But as an attempt at stealth, I know it is a total failure because of at least two glairing defects easily seen in the film! Three now that I think back on it, but I'll leave it to you all to see if you can find them.

I only meant it looked cool (which was probably the only requirement).  I don't think the thing is stealthy or has any military value.  I'm not even sure it would fly.

Reasons not stealthy:
1) Absence of saw-tooth edges
2) Canards
3) Pilot cockpit

It looks like a Boeing Bird of Prey technology demonstrator, which couldn't fly 300mph.  If it has comperable performance, I'm not too worried.

The fore-planes (not properly canards) have ailerons indicated. That is what I noticed. That is so wrong.

I can find a few things wrong with this bird.

1)   Not much room for a normal size pilot. ( it’s
perfect for the monkey they sent into space)
2)   No cannon. ( Maybe enough room for a .50 Cal and
ammo)

3)  Internal weapons bay?

4)  Gray paint is a poor substitute for RAM (
Mastering  this skill is well beyond  many nation)

5)  Nose looks too small to house any RADAR. ( A
Passport or Whistler will fit)

6)  Where is the HUD?

I bet an average Aerospace engineer can find many more discrepancies
with this aircraft.

Apparently it can fly...at least its RC model equivalent they used for the "test flight" part of that hilarious bit of propaganda...

Not buying it for a second. Too much dubbed sound effects and too much suspect camera work.

What are the Iranians about with this nonsense? Those people have been working on a bomb for ten years and they haven't even got a simple device like that right. What makes them think this fools anyone?
