Prediction. Lots of wasted CAS and Blue on Blue SNAFU.

The way the US is going about it makes it more strategic bombing than CAS.  With the low sorty rate (less than 100 bombs/month), emphasis on attacks against infrastructure, and lack of boots-on-the-ground to confirm/deny kills it will be a long time to get any meaningful statistics.

Actually, my feeling was that the US military was unwilling to embed controllers on the ground with Iraqi troops because a) they suck, b) the ever-present threat of being betrayed into ISIS hands by some sort of rogue Iraqi soldiery, and c) they suck.

The last thing we need is US military forces captured by ISIS.
You can bet every mission that goes airborne, there's an USAF Rescue team warming up with hefty backup firepower for any pilot that catches a golden bb.

Yeah, was just listening to an interview with an Iraqi soldier complaining about a lack of U.S. air support.. because ISIL was using tanks against them.. And the reporter failed to ask "where did they get those tanks from? Oh.. right.. the Iraqi army.." At least we have the sense to tell the Iraqi's to F.O. in regards to this particular request..

Just like I predicted in an eariler thread, the USAF is pulling every stop to avoid getting close enough the ground to win;
