I was a Ranger in 3rd Bat, 75th Ranger Reg. I begun my tenure shortly after Somalia but most of my life long friends were there.
Our main problem with Somalia was not Somalia, but our own leadership. One of america's most elite units was sent into a battle cripled and blind. Rangers are manufactured to own the night. Every single ranger is equiped with the latest technology of nightfighting.
What did leaders do?
Send a company plus of Army Rangers in support of Delta Operatives into the enemies playground at 3PM. Why?
What was the enemies night fighting capabilities? You guessed it nominal. We could have took the objective at night and walk away with little to no casulties.
I hope Clinton did not have a single night of sleep since that event. A lot of young men lost their lives and told our enemy that america pulls out when you take their lives. Clinton never went back to Somalia to let those pay for their mistakes. He started a policy that allowed americans to be killed without recourse.
September 11, 2001- America is struck by terror. Bush on a drop of a dime tells all that he will seek out all terrorist and those whom harbor them. What did he do? Sought out terrorist and those whom harbor them... Half way there and a year has past.
USS COLE bombing- Clinton? What happend? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!!! Those sailors died without answer.
Just imagine if Clinton were in the driver seat for Sept 11, 2001? He would be trying to work through political channels to find Osama. Afghan would still be afloat harboring terrorist. And terrorist would still have a solid network to work in.
September 11 would have been prevented if actions were taken against those in Oct 2000 and November 1993. The person which really harbored terrorist was Clinton. Now that he is gone all will live safer lives.
