Haven't seen it yet, but I hear they edited out the World Trade Center towers from the New York skyline, in commemoration of Sept. 11th. Hollywood's great, huh? Aliens from outer space can blow up the White House (Independence Day), federal troops can round up Arabs (Martial Law), but Spiderman can't web up a bank robber's helicopter between the Twin Towers (the original trailer of the Spiderman movie). Must...suspend...disbelief...

I saw it last night. I loved it, even though the childhood comic book continuity purist in me struggled so hard to hate it. The 21st Century updates (trans-genic modification instead of pre-Johnson era publicly-educated kid building his own web-shooters, and Ben's death in the street instead of his own home to name two) made me weep for a better America. Until I saw the New Yorkers respond to that terrorist bastard Green Goblin. Go see this movie. NOW.
